Food Nigeria exhibition & conference 2016 was held last week at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island Lagos. The very colorful food fair, which lasted from Tuesday to Friday, started with a conference and ended with exhibitions.
The venue was filled to capacity with numerous local and international food vendors exhibiting their products. The prospective buyers, distributors and other guests were also on ground to close deals and in many cases just savor the delicacies on show.
The stand that attracted the most traffic at the event was ‘The Rational’. This was probably because they had Master Chefs who were giving cooking lessons as well as the occasional tasting of their product offerings.
Another Food Fair…
If you missed the exhibition and conference, there’s good news – there is another food fair coming up in a few days at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos. It is called the Lagos Food and Beverage Fair and it starts on the 2nd of June and ends on the 5th.
The Lagos International food and beverage fair, LFBF, is an organised fair for companies, organisations, manufacturers, groups or individuals in the production of food related products. These products may be fresh, processed or packaged. If the food is packaged, then it must be in a conducive environment, eliminating all barriers between product owner and its consumer.
The LFBF has been designed strategically to hold every last weekend before the Ramadan season as consumer demand for food and beverage and other related product is at its highest . It is usually a four day event Thursday-Sunday, and this year will be no different.
The fair is approved and license by the National body responsible for the approval of any fair in Nigeria (NACCIMA).
Interestingly, this will be the 3rd food fair in close succession as the food fair season was opened by the GTBank food fair held at the Landmark Event Centre in Oniru to very high praise and reviews. Hopefully, the LFBF will live up to the high mark set by the 2 already held events.
