Gridlock: Lagos to Reconstruct 189 Roads

Lagos State government yesterday revealed it would soon embark on rehabilitation of 189 deplorable roads in the metropolis as part of measures aimed at addressing traffic gridlock in the state.

Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde and General Manager, Lagos State Public Works Corporation, Engr. Ayo Shodeinde disclosed this at Aluasa, Ikeja, while giving highlights of the state’s government efforts in the area of road infrastructural upgrade in the last six months.

The state government also revealed that over 282 roads have been rehabilitated in the last six months, just as it assured residents that the ongoing construction across the metropolis will be completed in due course.

General Manager of the Lagos State Public Works Corporation, LSPWC, Sodeinde, who gave the assurance while briefing newsmen on the work done so far, added that Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s desire is to see that roads are motorable across the state.
