Lagos Assembly Calls for Repair of Daleko Road

Lagos State House of Assembly has called on Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to direct the Public Works Bureau to urgently embark on palliative measure on Daleko road in Mushin area of the state.

The lawmaker representing Mushin Constituency II, Olawale Olayiwola who moved the motion under matters of urgent public importance said the road had brought untold hardship to the people of his constituency, stressing the need for the state to urgently find solution to deplorable condition of the road.

He said “I want to call the attention of this Honourable House to the deplorable condition of Daleko road in Mushin, which is the commercial area known for activities where people come to trade from different parts of the state to transact business.”

“This road has been abandoned by contractor handling this project which was awarded two years ago”. Supporting the motion, Hon. Adefunmilayo Tejuoso who represents Mushin Constituency II corroborate with the prime mover of the motion adding that there is need for immediate attention on the road considering the importance of the road to commerce in the State.

In a contribution, Hon. Bisi Yusuff representing Alimosho called for holistic approach on the entire roads in the state.

In his ruling, Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa said there are no abandoned roads in the state. He however cited lack of funds as cause of the delay of some of the projects.
