Recession, Unemployment, Inflation: It Is All In Preparation

“…for so were the days of their purifications accomplished, to wit, six months with oil of myrrh…”
(Esther 2: 12). That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

Esther’s preparation for the meeting with King Ahasuerus involved of a six-month treatment with the oil of myrrh.

The oil of myrrh was bitter; so something bitter was part of Esther’s preparation. That oil was a beauty treatment that should probably make her skin glow, it was not exactly tasty or pleasant, but it was part of the preparation.

Friend, God says, the ‘oil of myrrh’ in your life is a preparation for your next level. You may not like some bitter experiences you have been through or are going through, but someday, you will look back and be grateful for all you went through. You may not like the rejection you might have faced, but one day, you will look back and see that it prepared you in some ways. Some of your pains came to prepare you.

Esther was not meant to drink the oil of myrrh…

…she only used it as a skin treatment. So the bitter oil that came close to her did not come into her. Situations around you may be bitter, but though they are around you, God will not allow you to feel the impact. The bitter conditions you might be in will not live inside of you; you will not be a reflection of the bitter economy. It may happen around you but it won’t happen in you.

The oil of myrrh did not mess up Esther; it helped her get a crown. God says, the painful experiences you have been through will help you gain your crown in life. The bitter circumstances and conditions you live in will make it easy for you to become more and more of what God already destined you to be.

2 Corinthians 4: 17 says: “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;”

Declare With Me: My bitter experiences shall usher me into my next level, in Jesus’ name!
