1. Domino’s Pizza

Domino’s Pizza whips up an impressive line of pizzas with thin, robustly flavored bases and fresh toppings.  This is the most popular pizza restaurant in Lagos probably because they’ve wisely adapted their menu to reflect our local tastes. Also, they operate a FREE delivery system for orders within a proximity of the restaurant’s trade zone.

13, Musa Yardua Street, Victoria Island.

Following a hefty renovation, Pizza-riah is in contention for best pizza place in Lagos. The pizzas at Pizza-riah are made in a brick oven, which means that pizzas come with a crispy base and smokey flavour. This is traditional pizza at its finest.

Try getting the Prosciutto, simple ham and cheese pizzas. That, or the pepperoni pizza, will send you to nirvana for the brief moments your pizza lasts.

3. La Taverna

48 Balarabe Musa Crescent, Victoria Island

Remember when I said, Pizza-riah was arguably the best pizza place in Lagos? Well, these are the guys causing the argument. La Taverna wants to be the best pizzas place in Lagos and it shows. The waiters are friendly and patient, and the chefs are real nice.

They have wood-fired oven treatment (the best way to do pizzas) just like Pizza-riah. Their pizza combinations are a delight to the taste buds. I think I prefer the ham on La Taverna’s however.

Budget: NGN3,500 feeds two persons.  *Wednesday night is pizza night. All pizzas are N2000

4. La Veranda

17, Oju Olobun Street, The Blowfish Hotel, Victoria Island

La Veranda’s pizzas are really good. The crusts are thick and weighty, the dough is well done and easy on the taste buds. Indoors, there’s plenty of space so it’s accommodating for large groups. Oh, did I mention the free WiFi?

5. Debonairs

44A, Adeola Odeku Street, Victoria Island

What I’m yet to hear is a single bad review about their pizza, so that counts for something.

Debonairs consistently delivers an American-style pizza in Lagos experience. They have an incredibly wide variety of toppings and are perhaps the only really good pizza shop sporting a good delivery service.

6. Mario’s Pizza & Fast Food

2, Lander Close, Apapa

Amid Apapa’s bad roads and even worse traffic, Mario’s Pizza shines like the north star on a cold, dark night. The interior looks and feels special as the layout and decor are stylish yet understated. The Pizzas also deliver in the taste department and you won’t break the bank when you’re done as their prices are reasonable.

7. Lagoon Breeze Restaurant

Eko Hotel and Suites, Ademola Adetokunbo Street, Victoria Island

You can tell a place is good by how frequently they get business. Well, Lagoon Breeze Restaurant is usually jam-packed with people. That doesn’t mean the place is stuffy and uncomfortable, though. Far from it. There are sitting sections inside and outside, and the exterior opens to a view of the Ocean. The pizzas come out really well and you don’t have to wait forever for your order to arrive.

8. ll Sorriso

27A Oju Olobun Close, Victoria Island

This is one of the good Italian restaurants on the Island. And they also do pizza right. The service is always first rate, the food is amazing and the ambience really nice. It’s been renamed to Umutu, but everyone still calls it ll Sorriso, so we’re calling it Sorriso.

9. Pizza House

Food Court, Adeniran Ogunsanya Shopping Mall

The guys over at Pizza House have used up all their chakra points perfecting their Sweet and Tangy Chicken pizza (I’m guessing). The pizza is that good. Their bevvy of sauces and toppings is impressive. And if you opt to walk in, instead of ordering over the phone, your pizza usually takes ten minutes to get done. That’s a win.

Budget: NGN3,000 feeds two persons.

10. Southern Shawarma and Pizza

115 Ogunlana Drive, Surulere

Located in the heart of Surulere, Lagos, Southern Shawarma, and Pizza is perhaps Surulere’s best-kept secret. A fast food restaurant that happens to serve some incredible pizzas, you can enjoy their rich offerings every day. Mondays through Sundays.

They offer all sorts of pizza combinations including Pizza-Cheese, Corn, Marghari, Venezia, Seafood, Salami, Stromboli. If you’re the type who loves to have a bit of EVERYTHING on your pizzas, you could go for the Southern Pizza Special. You’ll be glad.

Budget: NGN4,000 feeds two persons.

11. Rhapsody’s Restaurant

19A ,Agoro Odiyan Street, Victoria Island

Light, airy and modern restaurant. Nice and friendly staff including the manager). For a good really good pizza in Lagos, make yourself happy and visit. The place sometimes gets very busy so make reservations.

Budget: NGN4,000 feeds two persons.

12. Manuela’s Residence

13 Taslim Elias Close, Victoria Island

Authentic pizza – thin crust and not too cheesy (even the expats swear by Manuela’s pizzas). Excellent toppings.
